I am tired, beloved,
of chafing my heart against
the want of you;
of squeezing it into little inkdrops,
And posting it.

awesome lines !!
good you mentioned the source as well...else I wouldnt have dared questioned its originality..:))
Perfect. Only a poet can transcend the boundaries of individuality. Once I had feelings of poetic articulations and I can imagine the imagination Lowell might have in mind while writing those lines. There is a proverb in China, “If you love someone…set her free. Lest your love should become a prison for her.”
happy rose day..
I think everybody was waiting for another post containing some new ideas. It may not be relevent to this poem but there is a another saying that perhaps originated from the ancient temples of shaolin,"If a finger is indicating the moon...do not concentrate on the finger or you will miss all the heavenly glory."
