a gathering light

only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity and am not sure about the former
-Albert Einstein

Reading one of those Reader's Digest collections...it had a brilliant story called A Gathering Light by Jennifer Donnely..partly based on facts and partly fiction its the story of Mathilda Gonke who while working at her family farm and later at a hotel called Gilmore dreams of going to college and reading Dickinson while taking care of a hungry family battling with poverty.Circumstances force her to abandon her dream and live as a farm girl when one of the guests at the hotel gives her a bunch of letters to burn. The next day the guests dies by drowning and Mathilda goes through her letters. What she finds changs her life forever.
Its not a soapy mushy book but more of little women era and the letters will haunt you as you imagine a poor frightened girl begging her beau to come back..more so when you are told they are true.

top 3 philosophies after 2/01/06

In the silence that followed 6 sorry readings that CAT'06 gave yours truly,i give you the top philosophies which followed:
1.God has something better for you (could you be a bit more specific, like what exactly)
2.Hard work always pays (waiting.................)
3.There's always a next chance.
I admit the people doling them out were truly, genuinely sorry for me but you know only you know how it feels..Suni's philosophy was lil cdifferent but I liked it-when you will finally get it,you ll truly know its worth and you ll be doubly happy...

98.67-an obituary

you came into my life when i was directionless and aimless
you gave me something to work for
kept me busy on empty weekends
i lived in the belief you would come true
but fate has been cruel dear verbal and di
for quant has stabbed me in my back
iim lies long forgotten
quant has deprived you of mdi too
its not fair my darlings
you worked too hard to push up my score
but the traitor flattered only to deceive
another time,another attempt
i ll find a way to win quant over
