our shame

Another sad pointer to our nation...in the States whistleblowers become celebrities, have Oscar nomonated movies and bestsellers to their credit...in our country the lucky ones are still alive...

I wonder what i would have done in Nathan's place...am afraid and ashamed to answer that question...this did not get much coverage here...got to know about it through Gaurav Sabnis' blog

indian express report
Got this as a forward...but am sure all girls who ever had a guy or guyfriend will agree...

Finally, the guys' side of the story. (I must admit, it's pretty good.)Rules from the male side. Please note... these are all numbered "1" on purpose!
1. Men are NOT mind readers.
1. Shopping is NOT a sport. And no, we are never going to think of it that way.
1. Crying is blackmail.
1. Ask for what you want. Let us be clear on this one:Subtle hints do not work! Strong hints do not work!Obvious hints do not work!Just say it!
1. Yes and No are perfectly acceptable answers to almost every question.
1. Come to us with a problem only if you want help solving it. That's what we do. Sympathy is what your girlfriends are for.
1. A headache that lasts for 17 months is a problem . See a doctor.
1. Anything we said 6 months ago is inadmissible in an argument. In fact, all comments become null and void after 7 Days.
1. If you won't dress like the Victoria's Secret girls, don't expect us to act like soap opera guys.
1. If you think you're fat, you probably are. Don't ask us.
1. If something we said can be interpreted two ways and one of the ways makes you sad or angry, we meant the other one.
1. You can either ask us to do something or tell us how you want it done. Not both. If you already know best how to do it, just do it yourself.
1. ALL men see in only 16 colors, like Windows default settings. Peach, for example, is a fruit, not a color. Pumpkin is also a fruit. We have no idea what mauve is.
1. If we ask what is wrong and you say "nothing", we will act like nothing's wrong. We know you are lying, but it is just not worth the hassle.
1. If you ask a question you don't want an answer to, expect an answer you don't want to hear!
1. When we have to go somewhere, absolutely anything you wear is fine... Really.
1. You have enough clothes.
1. You have too many shoes.
1. I am in shape.Round IS a shape!

Pretty funny and true i guess....also a request to all.please avoid using abusive language and derogatory terms...freedom of speech or typing doesnt mean others have to put up with your verbal diarrhea..

Going to Delhi tomorrow(not connected with the bomb blast investigation ut simply a month of enjoyment at home!!)

women and religion

One would expect me to shout with joy now that my externals are finally over and am done with CAT(just dont ask how...more of that later) but during these days I had been reading the Gita to keep my nerves in check and that's when it got my goat...

There was a stanza which went how people of lowly birth can attain enlightenment through the Supreme One...but guess whose is a lowly birth??women of course...
Throughout the text they are treated as people(ooops...objects) who will cause truthful,god-fearing men to go astray...they are obviously least interested in nirvana and like(they are too busy corrupting the men i guess)...and basically are not worth spending any time on(except avoidance of course)..

That's the Gita, Buddha says to attain nirvana one has to leave wine, wealth and women...that would account why he left his wife and son at midnight with no notice...

And don't even get me started on the Bible...Mary Magdalene anyone(Dan Brown's contribution to the war of sexes)...

This will start me all over again about rights and the remaining works..so I ll leave it at that...After my delhi blast post I had thought of keeping my more controversial thoughts to myself but then THIS IS MY PLACE right!!

don't you ever wish you were someone else
you were meant to be
the way you are exactly
don't you ever say you don't like the way you
when you learn to love yourself
you'll be better off by far
..if u can keep your head when everyone around you is losing theirs and blaming it on you...

Sometimes I surprise myself...kanjoos me is actually typing this from a cafe...in between my exams (including ADA which absolutely should be scrapped...God knows the torture i went through yesterday..) am planning to launch an investigation into the Delhi bomblast just like a reader has advised..I don't want to react too much to comments because if i didn't want them i could always turn the feature off..but I write things in my blog which I feel about..sitting 3000 km or in fact even if I were next door the only thing I could possibly do would be to ask people to be carefull and say no to prejudice or fanaticism of any sort..if there is anything else I could possibly do please let me know ,I ll do it..
As for the suspended students they are reinstated and cause for their suspension wasn't standing up2 the morally wrong but instead inter-party scuffle..
and yes life will lose its meaning if there is no mahasagar jiska ant i have to search..
till next

is mahasagar ka koi ant hai??

My provider it seems doesn't want to disconnect me but make me check my inbox a 100 times even the day before exams...

Anyways after wasting the previous 5 months of this semester, hitting books now for any period of time longer than 6 mandatory hours has become mighty impossible..I mean how much can you take of complexity of algorithms(ugh!) in a day??a zillion algos designed by somebody much smarter( we are talking about Stanford and CUSAT here) and since they zoom past your head, you take other wiser people's suggestionof stop trying to understand and write it again & again till you remember(also called rote or by-hearting)..it works well for Prim's algo but then you study Kruskal and Djikstra and then you dont remember what you were trying in the first place...

In fact today's day was spent in the alter of Networks, the only subject this sem which can even try to make a claim at being interesting...but then you can have only so much of routing then you feel like leaving the Internet to its devices and being spared of the details how your request carrying your IP address goes to a DNS...blah..blah...

Moving onto other stories...The charge being levied from us for electricity is increasing faster than oil prices..so going by example we should also launch an invasion on pretext of hidden biological weapons..am sorry for the pathetic sense of humor...just taking a break after Kurose-Ross asked me to imagine being a packet-switched datagram!

If i ever reach the end of networking d_grail will speak again..
